Velma R. Veloria
Velma R. Veloria (Democrat) represented the 11th Legislative District, comprising parts of South Seattle along the I-5 corridor, Tukwila,
Burien and Renton. She served six terms in the House of Representatives from 1993-2005.
Velma was an action and results-oriented legislator who focused on economic development, grandparents raising grandchildren, the environment, affordable housing, quality education for all students, trafficking of persons, and oversight of international trade agreements.
She organized and led international trade missions and provided contacts for small businesses to the international marketplace.
A graduate of San Francisco State College, she received a B.S. in Medical Technology.
