Ida Ballasiotes (Republican) served as representative from the 41st District which included Mercer Island and parts of Bellevue, Issaquah, Newcastle and Renton. She served five terms in the House of Representatives from 1993 to 2003. She was actively involved in issues regarding victims' rights, criminal justice, trade and economic development.

Ida received a BA in Urban Studies from the University of Puget Sound.

A long-term retail business owner and resident of Mercer Island. Ida and her husband had three children.
