Lois J. Stratton
Lois J. Stratton (Democrat) represented the 3rd Legislative District (Spokane,
part). Appointed to the House in 1979, she was elected in 1982 and 1982.
She then won a Senate seat in 1984 and 1988 and served until 1993.
A life-long resident of Washington state, she retired from Kaiser Aluminum Public Affairs.
She served on the Governor's Commission on Children; Nuclear Waste Board; Washington State Centennial Commission; Sentencing Guidelines
Commission; DSHS Drug and Alcohol Advisory Commission.
In the district she served on the advisory boards of Washington State Substance Abuse Coalition; Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery;
Daybreak; Regional Center for Child Abuse and Neglect; Greater Spokane Coalition Against Poverty; Retired Senior Volunteer Program; and,
Inland Northwest Health Science Center.
She and her husband had five children.
