Kathryn Malstrom
Kathryn Malstrom (Democrat)
represented [the 27th] district of Pierce County in the
State Senate for two terms, from 1932 to
1940.
Born 1888, in Minnesota, Malstrom
made her home in Tacoma where she raised
three sons. President of the Washington
Congress of the P.T.A. prior to her election, it
was Malstrom's ambition to remedy illiteracy,
to provide child welfare and to improve
school funding through legislative action.
In the Legislature, she was a member of
the Appropriations, and the Education and
Educational Institutions committees.
