Gladys Kirk
Gladys Kirk (Republican) represented [the 36th]
district of King County in the House of
Representatives for 15 years -- beginning in
1956.
Born in Gypsum, Colorado, she resided
in Seattle. Kirk received a business college
education and was the mother of two
children.
Well acquainted with the Legislature
through her husband, Douglas (a three-term
House member, she campaigned and won
the position when he retired.
Representative Kirk's major legislative
concerns were law-and-order legislation.
