Laurie Jinkins
Laurie Jinkins (Democrat) represents the 27th Legislative District, including most of Tacoma, Ruston and a portion of Fife. Originally elected in 2010, she
is serving her second term.
She serves as the Director of Organizational Development at the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and previously served as assistant secretary of the state Department of Health and as an assistant attorney general.
Laurie has been involved in education, government improvement, and human rights issues for many years. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law, as well as completing executive studies at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
She lives in Tacoma with her partner and their son, Wulf.
