Ann Anderson
Ann Anderson (Republican) represented the 42nd Legislative District in the Senate from 1987 through 1998. She resigned when she was appointed by Governor Gary Locke to the Tax Appeals Board.
In the Senate she held a number of leadership roles: Majority Assistant Whip 1988; Senate Majority Whip 1989-1992; Senate Republican Caucus Chair 1993, 1994; Senate Republican Whip 1995, 1996;
Senate Deputy Majority Leader 1997-1998.
She ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor in 1996 and for the Commissioner of Public Lands in 1992.
Born in Yakima, Ann graduated from Central Washington University with a BA
and MA in Education. Small business owner and former secondary school
teacher.
She lived with her family on the family farm near Acme.
