Monica Stonier

Monica Stonier
Monica Stonier (Democrat) represents the 17th Legislative District, which includes East Vancouver and parts of Clark County. Elected to the House of Representatives in 2012, she is serving her first term.

Monica is an instructional coach at Pacific Middle School in Vancouver and was previously a middle school teacher. She believes the priority of public education should be to teach kids to think critically, and she sees firsthand the need for stronger partnerships between jobs, workforce training and education.

Born on an U.S. Air Force Base, Monica comes from a strong military family.

She earned her bachelor's degree from Western Washington University and her master's degree from Washington State University Vancouver.

Monica and her husband, Brandon, have two children.
