Frances North (Democrat) represented the 47th District (King County) from 1973 to 1983.

North was a native of the Renton area and attended Seattle University. Active in her community, she was recommended for, and elected to a town council position. She was the first woman to serve on the North Bend town council. She sought a legislative position after serving two terms.

Frances North advocated for the Equal Rights Amendment, strenghtening of anti-discrimination laws and the enactment of comparable worth legislation. She also worked on legislation to make Mt. Si a public recreation area and natural preserve.
