Ruth Kagi (Democrat) represents the 32nd Legislative District, including north King and south Snohomish counties. Serving in the House of Representives since 1999, she was recently reelected in 2012.

During her Legislative tenure, she has focused on improving the quality of early learning and child care, strengthening foster care, and reforming the state’s drug sentencing and truck safety laws.

Ruth is a small business owner and has a long history of community and public service which includes serving as vice president of the League of Women Voters of Washington, Board member of the Shoreline Community College Foundation, and chairing the National Conference of State Legislature’s Human Services Committee.

She received her B.A. from the University of Washington and M.P.A. from Syracuse University.

Ruth has five children.
