Lisa Brown (Democrat) represented the 3rd Legislative District in Spokane. First elected in 1994, she served two terms in the House. She then won a Senate seat in 1996 and served until 2013.

In 2005, she became the first Democratic woman in state history to hold the position of Senate Majority Leader.

Lisa is an Associate Professor, Department of Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University in Spokane. She received a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Colorado, and a B.A. from the University of Illinois.

She has a son, Lucas.
